Farm Concert
The first Big Book the pupils read is 'The Farm Concert'.
Pupils can click on the links to find out more about farm animals.
Farm Animal Sounds
Farm Animals - Vocabulary and Pronunciation
The Farm Animals
All About Farm Animals
Animal Noises
After reading the Big Book, 'Farm Concert', pupils draw their favourite farm animal and write down the sound it makes.
Touch-typing
The pupils enjoyed their touch-typing session in the computer lab. They were focused and were able to type with the correct 'fingering', as you can see from the way they placed their fingers on the keyboard (see pictures below).
Here's a link for them to practise touch-typing at home.
Click on Dance Mat Typing. Have fun, boys and girls!
Week 3 is OVER!
Phew! Week 3 is over in a rush. The children have settled in quite well and I am glad to see that they are happy to be in school.
Thank you Parents, for the encouraging comments on the class blog. Glad that you like it. The song (by now your child would have told you) is sung every recess and the pupils learn a new song every term.
Thank you, Mr Lim, for the suggestion to add in the names. I know as parents, we'll like to get to know our children's friends.
For Math, we are into Number Bonds. Most of the children are able to grasp this concept well. There will be a class test next Thursday after we have completed the first 2 units. The test is from the MY PALS TEST BOOK. This is to assess how well pupils have understood these two topics. I hope parents will not be unduly stressed (and please don't stress your child : )).
Also, every two weeks or so, pupils will be given a mental sums exercise. They will be taking the exercise book home for your perusal and signature after 2 - 3 exercises.
Today, as Mr Ali was preparing to come in for Health Education, the children 'screamed and shouted' his name like a pop-star! I was amazed! Mr Ali is really popular with the children. They simply LOVE him. You should expect very fit and healthy children by the end of this year : )
