i)  We have completed :

    Unit 9 - Length

    Unit 7 - Numbers to 20

    and we have one last unit - Unit 8 : Addition and Subtraction W/i 20 to complete before the SA1. 

 

ii)  There will be a class test this Thursday on:

     Unit5 - Shapes and Patterns

     Unit 6 - Ordinal Numbers

     Unit 7 - Numbers to 20

A)

By the end of week 1, we have completed two more chapters for Math:

Chapter 5 - Shapes and Patterns

Chapter 6 - Ordinal Numbers

 

I have noticed that some pupils are having trouble differentiating between 'before' and 'after' of a number.

For example: What number comes just before 4? (Answer: 3)

                    What number comes just after 9? (Answer:10)

                     6 comes just before _____. (Answer: 7)

                     8 comes just after ______. (Answer: 7)

 

I would like Parents to revisit these concepts with your child informally through your daily routines.  They also need to do 'before' and 'after' for Ordinal Numbers.

 

The Student Pass will be handed out to the children on Monday (29th March)

The STUDENT PASS will be handed out to the children on Monday (29th March).  Parents please initial in their handbooks to acknowledge receipt of the cards.

As the card doubles up as EZ-link as well as National Library Card, please do not allow your child to carry it around if they do not need it for travelling to school.

Lost cards means others can use it to borrow National Library books at your child's expense.  It also means troublesome visits to the SMRT stations to make replacements. 

School will not handle re-issue of cards if they are lost or misplaced.

Children can start using their cards to borrow books from our School library.  Parents can make a photocopy of their cards for them to borrow books and safe-keep the actual card.

 

Learning about animals from P3B

The pupils have been reading about savannah animals in the past week. Coincidentally, 3B's pupils did a book project on animals, so we invited them to our class on Friday to share with the pupils their project. Each group had a P3 pupil to share with them about a particular animal. After listening attentively to the P3 pupils, they asked them questions on the animals. Both the P1 and P3 pupils were very enthusiastic about the sharing and they enjoyed themselves tremendously. Next week, the P1 pupils will be doing their own individual writing on animals.
